My appetite for loving is now my hunger pain

How I spent my past few weekends:
1. PN in the middle of a hit during a beach volleyball game, taken with our new fish-eye lens.
2. One of the three salvageable photos from Night it Up. Wearing ASOS maxi dress.
3. Watching some tricks at the Import Expo show, which took place in Markham Fairgrounds.
4. My first time swimming all season. Wearing H&M bikini.
5. A somewhat flopped, but still insanely fun, karaoke night with Fiona, Vo, and Leanne (not pictured). Wearing American Apparel dress and Zara blazer.

I could take it as a new beginning, but you know I don't feel that way

This is the outfit I wore in my last post. After dinner, PN and I headed to Scarborough to catch the night time viewing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.  I was beginning to regret my shoe choice after waiting in line for 45 minutes. I really hate that they decided to do the last movie in 3D. There weren't any crazy scenes that were enhanced by 3D. Still, I cried about a dozen times haha.

On a side note, there was this really annoying guy sitting next to me who kept BBMing on his stupid phone throughout the first part of the movie. I finally just said 'TURN OFF YOUR PHONE' during a quiet moment in the movie, and this guy had the balls to give ME a rude look. I paid money to see a part of my childhood end, not to be distracted by your inability to stay away from your phone for two hours! He stopped answering his texts after that, although I could hear his phone vibrating like crazy for the rest of the movie.

Moral of the story: turn off your phones. Seriously.

Still got a piece of you under my skin

PN and I headed to Wildfire Steakhouse to attend their Summerlicious event. Their prix fixe was a bit pricier than most of the other restaurants, but we figured it was because the quality must be great (which is a terrible way to pick a restaurant, haha).

Bread with some sort of hummus/curry spread

Escargots Provencal

Chilled 1/2 a Nova Scotia Lobster
Surf & Turf

Blank Angus New York Striploin

New York Cheesecake

Chocolate Mousse Dome

The highlight of our meal was definitely the escargots, as well as the striploin. The snails were swimming in butter, and we sopped up all the garlic-y goodness with the extra bread.  The striploin was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The lobster options were probably why this menu was so much more expensive. It wasn't anything special, but I personally prefer crab.

Overall, it was an average meal. It wasn't disappointing, but it wasn't terribly exciting either. It probably didn't help that I was gushing about Harry Potter throughout the entire meal!

I'm just having conversations with the thoughts in my head

It's a little mind-boggling that my university career is coming to an end, and I still have absolutely no idea which direction my life is heading in. The idea of the job-hunting and interviewing process is daunting, made especially so by the fact that I've yet to find any interest in my program.

On a less depressing note, it's been a almost a full three weeks since I've lifted my month-long shopping ban (which was successful), and I've only made two purchases!

I normally wouldn't say this, but I just can't contain it

I'm pretty sure this skirt is capable of glowing in the dark, haha.

I last wore this skirt here, where I complained about the sizing. I actually managed to fix this myself, albeit crudely, haha. I cinched it in with some quick hand sewing, and it now sits perfectly at the waist. Now I just have to tackle the lining!

What I'm wearing: Zara graphic t-shirt, H&M skinny belt, Forever21 linen skirt, Old Navy t-strap sandals, House of Harlow leather bracelet

No one else would ever do, I got a stubborn heart for you

There's no better way to enjoy hot and humid weather than with some refreshing beers and patio food... Which is why PN and I took advantage of St. Louis' Monday special (a pitcher +  three pounds of wings & fries)!

On the first page of our story our future seemed so bright

The quality difference from my Canon Powershot and the Panasonic GF1 is huge!

Another colour blocking attempt. I wanted to add orange sandals, but I'm pretty sure it would have been an overload, haha.

What I'm wearing: Forever 21 tank, H&M shorts & cardigan

I tried to call, but my pride wouldn't let me dial

This double plank photo totally cracks me up. You can see PN laughing because he was having trouble staying balanced. We're totally normal, I swear.

Dirt and glitter cover the floor

I purchased this wall decal from Urban Outfitters a month ago, and I'm still in love with it. My room's teeny (I don't even have a real closet!), but with small touches like this, I don't mind very much... sometimes, haha. I have strategically placed birds on my light switch and bed frame as well.

PN and I have been taking advantage of half-off Tuesdays at the movie theatres. We watched Transformers 3 last week in 3D.. I seriously hate 3D. Waste of my moneys, :(. It was okay. Rosie Huntington is pretty and all that, but she was pretty much useless in the entire film. Anyone else agree?

I'm a space bound rocketship and your heart's the moon

Washing our hands with the hose turned into an all out water war.. which meant doing a walk of dripping shame past a patio full of family members enjoying the barbeque. Tossed my dress into the dryer, and it came out shrunken to the perfect length for flats or heels. Not a bad day after all, haha. Winning.

Living life like we won the sweepstakes

This is going to be an extreeeeemely photo-heavy entry. PN and I decided to head towards Centre Island on the Friday of this past long weekend. After making the drive down and dropping $30 on parking alone, we headed towards the dock, only to realize that we sure as hell weren't making it to the ticket booth any time soon. It was easily a 2-3 hour wait! We didn't want to waste our parking, so we decided to walk along Harbourfront.

After walking for only a few minutes, we came across a line (which we immediately jumped in) that turned out to be the waiting line for a water taxi! For $10 per person, they will take a group of people to Centre Island. I only included the first photo because I've been really impressed by how long my hair has gotten.

It was insanely packed, but the island is huge so it was pretty bearable. We were really excited to rent bikes, but it was expensive and only by the hour, so we decided to foot it instead. Our original plan was to walk along the beaches towards Hanlan's Point (one end of the island), and then walk through the trails back towards Ward's Island (the other end of the island). It took us 4 hours to walk half the island! We gave up on the idea of going to the other side, haha.

The weather was perfect in the beginning. The sun was out and shining, but there was a great breeze. By the time we reached the first beach, the breeze was gone and the bag I was carrying had seemed to gain 100 pounds, haha. I love this bag because it's really deep and roomy, but everything heavy seems to magically make its way down to the bottom, no matter how I organize the inside. I call it my toilet bag.

Our last stop (and the highlight of our entire trip) was the clothing optional beach. This area was JAM PACKED. There were tons of people (not all of them nude), which was really surprising because the stretches of beach we had been walking on were pretty quiet. We only made it a few feet in to the area before we gave up. There was no sitting room! We also had to leave because I had a really goofy smile on my face, and PN was getting embarrassed. LOL so immature, I knowz.

After boarding the free return ferry, we weren't quite ready to go home yet. We dropped our stuff off at the car and decided to finish our walk around Harbourfront.

They had a lot of stuff going on in Harbourfront Centre. There was a jaw-dropping skipping rope demonstration, and the skating rink was filled with water so that we could soak our aching feet. We also took major advantage of all the free samples.

I hope everyone had an amazing long weekend! Happy belated Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians, as well as a happy Fourth of July to all the Americans. And of course, to save the best for last... Happy birthday to my beloved PN! You are the funniest, most amazingly patient man I know, and I'm forever grateful for your presence in my life.
