I live for the nights that I can't remember

I recently picked up American Apparel's 3D Flower Mesh Jumper in white. This is probably one of the most outrageous things I've ever purchased, and PN has been saying over and over again that he can't imagine me wearing it more than once.  Taking inspiration from Elle of Fast Food and Fashion, I decided to come up with five different ways to wear this piece. I didn't accessorize with jewelry or shoes because: (a) my feet didn't fit in the photos and (b) I didn't think to until after I had done all the outfits, haha. Never fear though, I've added a quick description of what I would pile on top after each photo.

For the very first outfit, I decided not to distract or take away from the shirt, and let it take centre place.  The plain black shorts can be interchanged for leggings, depending on weather and preference. The only way I would accessorize this would be to make sure my nails are painted, haha.

This next outfit is definitely more street chic. I tucked the jumper into a pair of linen high waisted shorts. Excuse the messy look of the belt, I was too lazy to pull it through all 6 belt loops (two on each side, and two on the back).  A nice big watch, strappy wedges or sandals and a fedora hat would make this the perfect outfit to roam around the streets of downtown Toronto.

For the third outfit, I definitely wanted to go a little more flirty and feminine, so I added a flowy, silk skirt.  I would definitely stick to above the knee in terms of skirt lengths, because the top is a one size fits all, which means you can look a little on the dumpy side with a longer length. I'd finish off with blush coloured flats and some cute stud earrings. Going through my earrings now, the ones that I like best are my pearl studs and a pair of pink roses.

This is the kind of outfit I'd wear if I had to go somewhere after work. I'd normally be wearing a blouse of some sort with these trousers, and it would be really easy to change into this jumper if I were to go out for drinks after working hours. It definitely makes the outfit a little more fun and lively for having drinks with some girlfriends. I think I'd prefer this outfit with loafers, but classic black pumps should do it as well.

With the fifth outfit, I'm totally going back to the 70s-80s with navy, high waisted disco pants. It's hard to tell in the picture, but they're actually insanely shiny.  Pair this with a very high, messy bun, and platform pumps, and you're totally set.  This is actually my favourite outfit! I tried this combo on in the store a few months ago, and I walked away with only the disco pants... but I couldn't get this image out of my head, and now I have the top to go with it.

1. Forever21 black shorts.
2. Forever21 linen shorts & belt.
3. Zara skirt.
4. LOFT trousers.
5. American Apparel disco pants.

I was actually contemplating exchanging the colour for the pink version, but after doing all these outfits, I think I'll keep the white. Anyone have any more ideas on how to style this top? I'd love to hear from you, :).

You are to me as I am to you

I just wanted to quickly blog about my amazing Forever21 online experience. Now, I haven't set foot inside a Forever21 store in ages, except for that one time in New York. I've been trying to avoid the lower quality items, but sometimes it's so hard because it's so cheap! Despite this, I still peruse their website, just to see what's being offered, and I stumbled upon this Floral Lace bodysuit, which is still available. I placed my purchase really early Friday morning (aka really late Thursday night) and this little package was at my door Monday morning.

The bodysuit is extremely similar to the popular American Apparel Stretch Floral Lace bodysuit. What I like about the Forever21 version is that although it is a v-neck as opposed to a scoop neck, the cups are lined, making it easier to wear! Also, the Forever21 version has a two-button snap closure at the crotch, which means you don't have to spend 15 minutes in the bathroom stall removing everything just to pee.

Warning: I sincerely apologize for the boobage, haha.

I picked up the black and the pink version in size S. They're really form fitting, and have adjustable straps. The bodysuit is listed under the 'Lingerie' section, for those who are curious. I don't have a large chest, but I guess it would be considered on the larger side for someone of my size. I probably could have gotten away with a size M. Personally, I find the cup part on the smaller side. It didn't entirely cover up my bra. I tried this piece on sans bra (GASP), and I actually prefer this look as it means less cleavage. The lining and the texture of the body suit means minimal nipple peeking, but I would wear pasties just to be on the safe side.

I also picked up this Love21 Silk-Blend Streamer top to qualify for free shipping. As you can clearly tell by the fit (size S), it's being returned, which is a shame because I actually really like the print!

And long after I've gone, you'll still be humming along

Today's extremely small haul is dedicated to Aritzia. I haven't shopped here in an extremely long time due to extremely large crowds and discouraging prices, but I couldn't help but drop in at the outlet location, located in Vaughan Mills. This is where most of the sale pieces end up, so if you don't mind digging around, you can really find some great pieces, for discounted price!

95% cotton, 5% spandex

The first item is a bodycon skirt (Talula brand) that can be worn either high waisted, or around the hips. I was drawn to the pyramid studs on it, which is a nice change from a typical black skirt. I also liked that it was a bit of a longer length, and the $19.99 price tag really sold it! I purchased this in an XXS, which is slightly too snug, but it was the only size left. It just means that I won't be able to tuck a shirt in without having some bulge.

52% cotton, 24% polyester, 24% rayon

The second (and last) item is this oversized deep v-neck long sleeve in an oatmeal colour (TNA brand). At $35, I can admit that it is overpriced, but it is soooo comfortable. The sleeves are meant to be rolled up (and are sewed that way), and it is so easy to throw this top on over a pair of jeans or leggings, and you're on the go! I actually tried this shirt on with the skirt, and I tucked in one side and let the bagginess flow over (hopefully you know what I'm talking about).  I actually really liked the pairing. It still exuded a 'comfy' vibe without being overly casual.

We'll watch the world from up here as it turns to the rhythm of love

So I'm going to do a series of (somewhat) short posts that will be showcasing what I've purchased over the past few months. I've picked up a few pieces here and there, and today's post will be dedicated to H&M.

This is just a plain miniskirt in a nice shade of brown. I like the hint of red it has in it. It's nothing special, but at $14.95, I thought it would be a nice addition to my wardrobe, since I don't own any skirts in this colour. This is in a size 4, and as you can see, it's a snug fit without making me look like a large sausage stuffed inside a small casing.

Next up is this beautifully textured clutch with a price point of $24.95 (or $29.95, I can't remember TBH). I love the geometric shapes on the front, with an almost reptilian like texture to it. I also love that the chain and studs are a gunmetal gray, rather than your usual silver. It's quite roomy, large enough to fit all your essentials and perhaps a bit more.

The last item is this white dress at $34.95. 70s inspired pieces are showing up every where this spring, and although I'm not quite ready to hop onto the bell-bottom jeans fad, I think this crochet knit dress is definitely more within my comfort zone. The half sleeves and bottom hem are flared with a beautiful scalloped edge. I'm actually slightly iffy about this piece, as the fit is a bit loose in the torso area (size 2), but I just love the versatility of it. I can already imagine wearing it as a beach cover up during the day, then adding a slip underneath to make it more appropriate for dinner somewhere along Lakeshore Blvd. What do you guys think? Keep or return?

Our hair is perfect while we're all getting shit wrecked

Once again, the Estee Lauder/MAC Warehouse sale came around again (once every three months) and I went on the Sunday. The last time, I didn't really purchase much, and I purchased even less this time around. I just like to go and look at the new products that they have, and they did have a few items that I was interested in... Unfortunately, a lot of things were sold out by the time Sunday came around. For previous hauls and more information, you can refer to this post, or this post, or even this post.

Moisturelush Cream - $25 (price increase of $5)

My go to night cream! I love how thick and creamy this is. I just tip the tip of my finger in, rub it between my hands and apply to my face after my shower. The morning after, my face feels soooo soft. It does have a faint scent to it, but certainly not overpowering. PN describes it as a cotton-y kind of smell, which I think meant fresh laundry, haha.

T to B: Lust is Lush lip gelee, Lilacrush lip gelee - $10 each (price increase from $15 + BOGO free)

Lilacrush is actually a very pretty dusty rose colour, and although it doesn't really show up on my extremely pigmented lips, it helps to even out my natural colour. I haven't had a chance to wear Lust is Lush yet, but it's an insanely glittery, BRIGHT orange that I'm excited to pull out for this summer. I've been growing my collection of orange lip products..

Charity Package - $5

The Sunday charity package consisted of a cremesheen glass in 'Boy Bait,' a lip mix in 'Black,' #41 lashes, and the mineralize SPF 15 loose foundation in 'Medium Deep.' I only purchased one charity package this time around, as the items weren't as good as previous ones.

Haunting satin eyeshadow - free gift

L to R: Lust is Lush, Lilacrush, Boy Bait, Black, Haunting

I think my penchant for dropping hundreds of dollars of cash at these sales are officially over, haha. They're still fun to go to, and I think I'll continue to go on the off chance that I find something amazing. There have been some products previously that I was very excited about, but they were always sold out by the time I got to the counter. Any one happen to go to a previous day sale? Share your goodies!

He even reminds me of a kid we used to know

The outfit I wore Saturday night on our failed attempt at getting a table at Guu. Who would actually wait 2 hours for a table?! We were told it would be a 4 hour wait, so I guess in the end it wasn't too long of a wait.. but we ended up abandoning Guu to eat at Phil's Original BBQ.

My computer has some sort of weird virus on it that doesn't allow me to open up Firefox or Internet Explorer, :(. In the mean time, I'm currently borrowing PN's laptop to do this post, and I'm hoping to get my laptop fixed within the week, as I really depend on it for school. Tear.

What I'm wearing: Forever 21 leggings, tank top, and belt, Costa Blanca cardigan, Zara wedges, House of Harlow necklace

EDIT: It's currently 3:18 am and I have managed to fix my computer myself. *JIGS* For those of you who are running on Windows 7 OS, you may eventually receive a message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to purchase Windows 7 Home Security 2011 in order to delete these viruses. It will look very legit with a whole list of files that have been infected. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. While it's true your computer has been infected, this is not a legit product. I would suggest taking your computer to a technician to get it fixed right away. I have an antivirus and antispyware program, but I still managed to catch this which goes to show that you must ALWAYS be careful. I managed to manually fix my computer myself, but I don't recommend this because it took me four hours to do so. I made a mistake, which resulted in me having to rely on my iPhone to help google up some help because I couldn't access any of the programs on my computer.

I want to kick myself in the face, I seriously wonder how I managed to catch this annoying little virus. I just performed a System Restore, so if this ever happens again, I can revert back to this moment in time. SIGH OF RELIEF.

Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light

What I'm wearing: Mendocino blouse, American Apparel riding pants, Burberry rain boots, H&M clutch

So I spent my birthday weekend studying hard for three midterms.. being at school from 8:30 - 6:30 on a Saturday is seriously brutal. And of course, being the silly person I am, instead of resting afterward, I packed up some stuff for a night of volleyball.  PN, being the sweetie that he is, picked me up with a huge bouquet of lilies (my favourite), and that wasn't even the end of it!

For the past two years we've been dating, he's always shown up at midnight on the day of my birthday with a cake and candles. I didn't think he'd pull it off this year, since we would be at volleyball. I even brought it up to him while we were resting between games, making a joke about him breaking tradition. After playing another game, we went to another area to rest, and they ended up making an announcement over the intercom about it being my birthday... and around the corner comes a cake! PN had bought it the day before and had given it to his friend to bring so that I wouldn't see it. Whadda sly boy, :).

Hope everyone's had a restful weekend.. Apparently, we're supposed to have mild weather here in Toronto until the spring... Looks like winter's finally over! HURRAH!
