What rushes in to my heart and my skull, I can't control it

My cousins have been sleeping over since Christmas, and getting access to a computer is like doing battle. Finally got around to arranging dinner with PN. Happy belated anniversary to us!

A typical day in our relationship, hahaha

I consider myself very lucky to have found someone who is not only able to get me to take a deep breath and a step back when things don't go my way, but also someone who is able to accept me even when I can't. I don't ever use words like 'forever' or 'always,' but he knows that I am just as invested in this relationship as he is.

I am the least photogenic person I know (and no, I'm not just saying that for compliments). I manage to look mean, awkward and surprised all at the same time. The only way to get past this is to do the 'pretend like the camera is not there' pose. Makes me wonder how all the beauty bloggers that I follow do it.

Who cares if we're trashed, got a pocket full of cash we can blow

The beginning of this month marked the last Estee Lauder/MAC warehouse sale of the year. The only reason I attend is honestly to check out the skin care, $3 bin, and charity package. I've been dying to try some MAC Face and Body foundation, but it's been sold out every time. ): Fiona was amazing enough to give me some samples to try, and I'm now lusting after a bottle even more!

There were some price increases this time around, and I'm assuming that it's because of the holiday season. However, I'm pretty sure the organizers realized how much more money they could be making, since the sales have gotten insanely more popular.
Eyeshadows - $12 instead of $9
Foundation - $12 instead of $10
Face/Blushes - $15 instead of $12
Lipsticks/Lipglosses - $10 instead of $15 bogo free
$3 bin - $4 bin

First item I picked up is from the $4 bin. It's an eyeshadow pan in 'Li'lilly.' I believe it's a limited edition product because I can't find a picture of it anywhere. No idea what finish it is, but it's a lavender with gorgeous green/silver glitters. The second product is a blushcreme pearl (yet again) in 'Blossoming.' I'm obsessed with these! However, all the colours seem to be really similar.. This one is a muted pink.

The last product I picked up was a slimshine, and for those of you who don't know, they've discontinued these! Out of all the MAC formalas, this one is my favourite. High 90's is a creamy bright orange. The items on the right is the free gift that they were handing out at the exit. It's a package of 6 Christmas cards from MAC's collaboration with 'Kids Helping Kids.' They included a sharpener as well.

Now for the charity package! Cheek & Cheerful is a mineralized blush (more of a bronzer) with really frosty pools of gold. Gingerroot is a pearlglide liner and the infamous Smoke & Diamonds is a starflash finish.

L to R: Li'Lily, Blossoming, High 90s, Gingerroot, Cheek & Cheerful, Smokes & Diamonds

As usual, I picked up some extra charity packages to add to my bag of goodies for future giveaways. If anyone's interested in a swap for a charity bag from another day, send me a message!

Run for your children, for your sisters and your brothers

Headed down to Sushi Couture with some friends to get our chow on last Friday night. Major food porn alert.

L to R: Sheryl, Maria, Helen, Irene

L to R: Sandy, Jenn, Me, Vo, Fiona

The restaurant was on the small side, but the staff were extremely nice and friendly. They even gave us a free dish (the fish!)! But of course, nothing really matters when you're with good company, :). Who ever said that people on the internet were dirty old perverts?!

I have my last exam tomorrow, wish me luck!

The horses are coming so you better run

I like how I always end up preferring the 'damn you I'm not ready' shots.

What I'm wearing: Zara leopard blouse, Calvin Klein trousers, ALDO booties, jewelery from Tiffany & Co. and F21

Much ♥♥ to these ladies for a fabulous night! Food porn coming soon, :).

Cop lights, flash lights, spot lights, strobe lights, street lights

I'm in the midst of studying for exams, so I'll make this one a quickie. I was tagged by two lovely people:

Thank you to Jessy for giving me The Versatile Blogger award!

Seven things about myself:
1. I like to eat pears that are about one day from rotting... My mom usually buys them from the '$1 for 4' section in grocery stores because no one else likes them as mushy as me, LOL.
2. I only comb my hair about once a month.
3. I have a double size bed, but I sleep on it as if it were a single.
4. When I'm having a bad day, I sometimes yell things like 'Why are you doing this to me?!' at myself in the mirror.
5. I have no school pride/spirit. Absolutely none.
6. I don't allow any socks on my bed other than the ones I wear to sleep at night.
7. I sleep with my phone under my pillow.

Thanks to Edwina for the 'I Love Your Blog' tag.

1. Why did you create this blog?
Well, I had originally started with YouTube videos, but after a while, I lost motivation for it. Filming and editing videos was very time consuming, and although I very much appreciated the support, it sort of lost its 'fun' factor. I didn't want to leave the beauty community entirely, hence the blog!

2. What kinds of blogs do you follow?
Anything that catches my interest! Fitness, beauty, fashion, food and life!

3. Favourite makeup brand?
Hm, I don't think I have a favourite, although I do own a lot of MAC... but that's mainly because I have access to the Estee Lauder/MAC Warehouse sale. I love the lip tars from OCC, powder blushes from ELF, eyeliners from MUFE, cream blushes from MAC... and so on and on!

4. Favourite clothing brand?
Once again, don't have a favourite. I've been frequenting Zara and H&M quite a bit these past few months, and I've been losing interest in F21. I love American Apparel for their classic, albeit expensive, pieces.

5. Your indispensable makeup product?
MAC MSF natural! No matter what foundation/concealer I use, I ALWAYS set with this.

6. Your favourite colour?
At this moment: anything neutral; tan, beige, camel, blush pink, off white... Of all time: toss up between green and purple.

7. Your perfume?
Dove deodorant, LOL. Actually, I don't even wear deodorant that often... I don't have odour, so I tend to use antiperspirant instead, but even that's rarely.. AHAHA, I sound so unhygienic right now, :(. Bottom line: I don't wear perfume.

8. Your favourite film?
Forrest Gump. I can watch this back to back over and over again... I actually did this once when they had a special on the History channel. They played this movie back to back to back every night for about two weeks... and I watched it every night!

9. What country would you like to visit and why?
Hong Kong (although it's technically not a country...), Vietnam, China... I'd like to see where my parents grew up!

10. Make the last question yourself and answer:
Blue or black ink?
BLUE! Although I occasionally write in black, if I had a choice, I will pick blue. And not just any blue.. This specific blue pen from Staples, because I looove the weight of the pen, the thickness of the ink, and the flow of the ball point... :).

I tag anyone who wants to do this tag (which I know is kind of cheating)! Link me your blog post in the comment section if you do decide to do it. :) Thanks again to Jessy and Edwina for the lovely tag!

The night is young and so are we

Yep, it's that time of the month again ladies... and no, I don't mean that special little visit from Aunt Flo. What I'm referring to is that dreaded appointment at the salon. That's right.. the monthly bikini wax.

Now I'm about to talk about a mortifying topic, so if you feel uncomfortable/uninterested already, I suggest you skip this. I know that there many people out there that are curious about this but are too embarrassed to ask questions or even bring it up. Nothing like some blogging to gently approach the topic and perhaps answer any questions that you may have.

Your chiapet, your muff, your pubes, and all the other euphemisms for your 'hair down there.' As soon as you get your first period, you have to deal with hair growing from places that you've never had hair before. I know some ladies have said 'well no one will see me down there anyway...' That's not the point! Obviously, you shouldn't alter your appearance in any way to satisfy someone else. It's all about satisfying yourself. If you're the kind of person who likes to dress up and look polished, you should apply these kinds of values to what lies beneath your clothes. On the other hand, I'm not saying I'm going to judge you if you don't do any kind of landscaping. I'm just a firm believer in keeping it hygienic down there, whether by waxing, trimming, or shaving. Personally, I've done all three and I thought I'd let you guys in on some tips that I've learned.

1. Use a small pair of scissors.

If you decide to go this way, just a bit of warning: you'll experience some sssssssssserious itch when it starts to grow back. Seriously. It's the 'stick-your-hand-in-your-pocket-to-scratch-yourself-because-you-can't-wait-any-longer' kind of itch.

1. Use a fresh razor each time you shave. You don't want to try this with a dull blade. Also make sure it has an aloe strip.
2. Do this at the end of your shower. That way all your pores have opened up and your skin will be soft and supple.
3. Use conditioner instead of shaving cream/soap. This will ensure a smooth shave, and super soft skin!
4. Be ready to get all up close and personal with yourself. If you want a good, clean shave, you should be prepared to be poking around a bit down there.
5. Go SLOW. You seriously do not want to nick yourself.
6. In terms of direction of shaving, I've heard different things (going opposite/same way of hair growth). Experiment with both and see which one suits you.

This is definitely the method that I recommend. I know it can be uncomfortable to even think about getting undressed in front of another person and having them stare at your most intimate parts for 20 minutes, but just remember: this is their job. They have seen all kinds of vaginas. Yours will not be special. A good waxer will ask you to put yourself in positions that will make you want to die. They're making sure they're doing a thorough job, and that's what you should look for in a waxer.

There's two types of waxes that you can get: the bikini or the Brazilian. I think that every woman should try getting a Brazilian at least ONCE in their life. It will change you. Seriously. The place I go to is called Cozy Nails.

For those who don't know the difference, a bikini wax will remove unruly hairs that poke out of the sides your bikini bottoms while a Brazilian will take off EVERYTHING. Unless you want a little mohawk for your buddy.

1. If you're worried about the pain factor, take a Tylenol/Advil 30-40 minutes before your appointment.
2. Most places will let you wear a thong if you're too embarrassed to get completely undressed. However, it is extremely inconvenient for them to work around it, and you'll end up having to throw the thong away at the end of the day because it'll be covered in wax, baby powder, and hair.
3. This is really important: while they are giving you a wax, WATCH as they dip the applicator in to the pot of wax. They should be using a new applicator every single time. If they aren't, don't ever go back. That is extremely unhygienic and unprofessional.
4. Take a shower either the day before, or even right before your appointment. I'm not saying you have to blow dry and spritz some perfume on it, but you don't want to go when you're all janky and haven't taken a shower in 2 days.
5. Let them know if it's your first time. They will try to be helpful and make it as less painful as they possibly can.
6. When you know they're about to pull the strip, take a breath and tense your body. ( I don't know why but this really helps me). Let it out slowly while you relax in between each strip.
7. Do not try to give yourself an at home wax. You would never have the balls to continue yourself after the first strip, and you would end up killing your friend rather than let them continue.

How to take care of your hair
1. Try and bathe your body every day.
2. Treat your muff to conditioner! Seriously, it's hair. Why wouldn't you? It makes it uber soft...
3. Results are not forever, and hair will eventually grow back. Apply non-scented lotion after you shower/take a bath to help soften the hair follicles so it won't be so rough.

One company I'm currently interested in is I Love My Muff. I haven't purchased any products from them yet, but this is an interesting and innovative company! If you're serious about taking care of your muff, I'd suggest trying some of these products and letting me know how it goes!

I wrote this post with a 17years+ audience in mind, so if you're younger than that, SHOO.

Any questions/tips to add? Comment below or contact me via all the methods listed in my profile. I'd love to read your thoughts!

Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies

Collective haul since the last haul post! Christmas and a future anniversary is around the corner, so I think my money is best spent elsewhere for now.. Doesn't mean I won't splurge on myself every once in a while :).

H&M; Zara

The first top is definitely not weather appropriate, but I can already imagine myself wearing this come spring/summer! Another crop top to add to my collection. The texture of this is what sold me. It's a weird mix between suede/faux leather, so it has high shine but is extremely soft. The second top is a semi-sheer polyester blouse from Zara. Although I'm loving the leopard print craze, this is my first piece in this print! Not as soft as I'd like it to be, but I love the small ruffling along the v-neck.

Costa Blanca

Picked up these two cardigans for 40% off! They're just regular long cardigans. I love how fitted the sleeves are, and these are a must for my work attire.

My newest loves. The name of these shoes are hilarious (Licklider, really?!) and they are 5 inches of pure love. Hidden platform makes these extreeemely comfortable. The toggles/studs/buttons/whatever you want to call them are actually a dark gunmetal. Word of warning: this is a bit of a smaller fit, so wear thin socks only!

I picked up a few other items these past few months, but they've already been incorporated into some OOTD posts, so I thought it rather unnecessary.

I've already started some gift shopping! What's on your Christmas list this year?

The things we could do in twenty minutes girl

Hey guys, just wanted to do a quickie:

I've noticed my recent hoarding lately, and decided to part with some products that have not been receiving much love in the past few months. As much as it pains me, it's just time to let go :(.

Check out my blog sale here!

I heard you good with them soft lips

A couple of weeks ago, ELF had a 50% off sale for their Studio line, so I took full advantage!

9 items for a grand total of $24.95, including shipping! Here's a little tip: if you live in Canada, they normally charge another $8 on top of the $6 shipping fee. To by pass this extra charge, create a PayPal account and process the order as a guest. You'll only be charged the $6 fee.

L to R: Sand, Nude

The tinted moisturizer is soooo misleading. 0.7 oz/20 ml, this thing is TIIIIIIIINY. I swear you can use this all up in two days. The squeeze hole is really small, like the size of this period -->. The foundation comes with a pump, so that's a plus. Warning: don't pump it like crazy the first time you get it, you'll experience foundation explosion. As you can see by the swatches, the moisturizer is a tad too dark, and the foundation is a tad too light... at least on my hand. We'll see how it ends up on my face.

When I saw the contour brush, my face was literally like this: -_-. SO SMALL. The picture is not very accurate. What is this supposed to contour?! Regardless, very soft. Reviews on brush cleaner/shampoo eventually.

The photos make the colour appear darker than it actually is. It's actually a very bright coral-pink. The swatch photo is when I rubbed it into my hand, which means this will actually give you a nice tint! Very creamy application. The size of this is HUMUNGO! It's the size of a MAC blush.. I just compared it. Not very portabe. Also, small circular opening may be irritating for those who have nails.. you'll end up digging out a little product with your nail every time you dip your finger in.

Heartbreaker is actually extreeeeeeeemely similar to the Mellow Melon balm in the jar. When applied, though, it's actually a very bright pink. Tease is a nice nude rose colour. Very versatile. The texture of these is like mousse, with a cream to powder finish. Once again, these are HUUUUUUGE. Bigger than a MAC blush!

Comparison photo. L to R, T to B: Heartbreaker cream blush, Mellow Melon tinted balm, Tease cream blush, MAC blush

This order only took a week to get here! It was processed within 24 hours, which is pretty great. I know ELF can be up and down with their shipping, but I think this is a definite improvement. Obviously all of these comments I've made are just initial comments, as I haven't tried any of these out yet. If you guys want me to do a review, let me know!

I bought all of these products with my own money. PS, for some reason the cream blush and foundation was $6 instead of the usual $3. I guess it's the more 'high end' of their 'high end' stuff.
