The whole world stops and stares for a while

So PN and I, as well as some of his friends, decided to head down to the border to do some outlet shopping in New York... and boy was it not worth it! Traffic was insane, the line at the border was insane, and the stuff at the mall was... well, not insane at all. It was packed, and we didn't leave with very much, which was totally disappointing! I thought I'd share some scenic photos with you guys anyway, all taken with the 'miniature effect' on my new camera.

So my plans for this long weekend included a major change up of my room. This included moving furniture, changing the layout, and repainting my walls this beautiful, dreamy lilac colour. Of course, this lead me to do some purging of my things.. Turns out, I AM A HOARDER.

Case in point:

That's right, guys. I've kept every single box of every single MAC product I have ever owned. PN was absolutely stunned at my hoarding, and when I couldn't give a good enough reason as to why I kept them all, he made me throw them all out. :(

I actually felt a bit panicked as he started flattening out each box and tossing them in recycling, but I don't even really know why! My reasoning for keeping them was that maybe I could potentially resell the items that I've rarely used, and everybody loves having the original packaging.. But now that idea can totally be scratched. Looking at all the boxes laying out made me realize that I've been on some craaaaaazy make-up binges, and a lot of my items don't get as much love as they should! This obviously led to the conclusion that I should really stop going to these MAC sales. I'll still be going to the one coming up (September 10-12) seeing as how I already have the tickets, but there will be some seeeeerious budgeting.

I think a big part of it is the whole 'limited edition!' effect. The fact that there is only a limited quantity makes me feel like I should purchase now, just in case I never see the product again... which is totally irrational, I know. MAC is very prone to repromoting their more popular limited edition items. I've been keeping a tight watch on my finances lately (spreadsheets and everything!), which really opened my eyes to my spending habits. I've been successful in keeping to my budget and toning down unnecessary purchases, and I hope I can keep it up now that school's starting. It was just such a shock to see how much I've bought in the past year.. Anyone else ever feel the same?

And to end on a somewhat happier note, a quick outfit:

What I'm wearing: Blouse - Mendocino, Jeans - Domino, Shoes - Zara, Bracelet - House of Harlow, Bag - Forever21

eww microwaved bacon -.-'' lazy bastards haha!

Ohh I am also guilty of keeping all of my MAC packaging!!! I secretly wish their B2M program will one day start accepting these boxes HAHA! That's my reason.

I was a little disappointed on my outlet shopping day too but it was fun experience.

yeah...i'm a hoarder too. I actually have the same problem and think the same way about selling the stuff I rarely use. But alas, all my original packaging is gone as well ><

I'm so glad you got a camera! Now I can see more of your beautiful face!! <3
